Residents are invited to participate in the annual City Scrub, a community clean-up that encourages residents to care for the community by picking up litter that’s collected over the winter months.

This year, the free community clean-up takes place from April 18 to 24 and residents are encouraged to take 20 minutes to pick-up garbage in parks and neighbourhoods close to their homes.

Residents are invited to participate in the event by registering online. In alignment with provincial regulations, groups participating in the City Scrub are limited to 10 individuals. Masks must be worn, and individuals from different households must maintain two meters physical distance.

Once registered, groups are assigned a location and provided with supplies such as garbage bags and disposable gloves. Interested parties may find more information at cityofgp.com/cityscrub or contact Environmental Services at 780-538-0415 or cityscrub@cityofgp.com.
