Rachel Notley, former premier of Alberta and current MLA for Edmonton-Strathcona as well as NDP party leader, confirmed this week she’ll be running for Premier again in 2023.

In a post on Facebook, she said, “There's so much opportunity in Alberta and there's so much frustration with the current Government.

“Alberta's greatest resource is its people and I'm going to fight for all of them.”

In the 2019 election, the United Conservative Party, led by Jason Kenney won 63 seats, while the NDP, led by then Premier Rachel Notley, won 24 seats, making them the Official Opposition.

The 2023 election date is not set but will between March 1 and May 31.
