Over the weekend, Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools (GPCSD) announced a possible COVID-19 exposure at two schools: St. Clement and St. Catherine Catholic School.

On Saturday evening, a teacher who works at both schools tested positive for COVID-19. The teacher was at school on Feb. 3, and may unknowingly have been positive for the virus then.

The grades impacted were Kindergarten to Grade 7 at St. Clement and select Kindergarten and Grade 3 class at St. Catherine.

In a Facebook post, GPCSD says, “Covid-19 is still a significant threat. Help protect our students, staff and community. This weekend almost 200 students and staff were required to isolate and transition to at home learning temporarily due to COVID-19 exposure.”

Parents and guardians of students, as well as staff, visitors and volunteers, are reminded to monitor for signs and symptoms using the daily checklist.
