Winter weather? It will be “snow” problem at the County of Grande Prairie’s second Winter Family Frostival Event.

Families, friends, and neighbours are invited to join the fun at Pipestone Creek Campground on Sunday, February 26 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

“We’re planning a variety of activities for the afternoon, including a bonfire, sleigh rides, tobogganing, and snow sculpting and painting,” said Reeve Bob Marshall. “We’re looking forward to enjoying the great outdoors and all the amenities that our Pipestone Creek Campground has to offer.”

County staff will lead guided snowshoe walks for beginners at 1:00 p.m. and intermediate snowshoers at 2:00 p.m. Snowshoes will be available first come, first served. Attendees with snowshoes are encouraged to bring their own and the trails are open to explore.

“Any time that we can provide outdoor activities that are enjoyable for residents and families and accessible, we are happy to be creating a safe, healthy and vibrant County,” adds the Reeve.

While there is no cost to attend the event, tickets must be reserved through Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.ca so we can make sure there’s plenty of hot cocoa.

The event and planned activities are weather dependent. The event will be cancelled if the forecast is below -20 degrees Celsius with windchill.
