The Town of Beaverlodge and NuVista Energy Ltd. are pleased to announce they have reached a naming rights agreement for the Beaverlodge Recreation Centre. The recreation centre will be known as the NuVista Energy Centre for a period of at least five years. A dedication will occur in spring.

The recreation centre is a multi-purpose facility featuring a swimming pool, fitness centre, event room and community centre that serves the Town of Beaverlodge and surrounding area. This facility sees over 55,000 user visits annually.

Concurrent with the naming rights agreement, NuVista is pleased to announce that it has provided a further donation to the Town towards the purchase of a pool deck inflatable slide and climbing wall.

“NuVista is tremendously pleased to enter into this naming rights agreement with the Town of Beaverlodge,” said Jonathan Wright, President and Chief Executive Officer of NuVista Energy. “We are proud of this association with the Town’s signature facility and we are even prouder of our relationship with the Town. Our involvement is an example of the commitment we have to generating sustaining benefits for the communities in which we operate.”

“The Town of Beaverlodge is very excited to have finalized this naming rights agreement with NuVista Energy,” Mayor Gary Rycroft said. “NuVista Energy has been a longstanding supporter of the Town and its programs that service and benefit the community and region. Council and Administration are very appreciative of this support and the relationship that has been established between our organizations.”

The Town would also like to highlight that, with this Sponsorship, NuVista has contributed over $200,000 in donations and sponsorship to the Town over the past three years. This includes a recent donation of $30,000 towards playground equipment renewal. In 2022, NuVista donated $70,000 toward the purchase of a community bus to serve the Town. The community bus is a 21-passenger unit with a wheel chair lift intended to provide transportation for seniors to and from medical appointments, shopping and other events. The bus will also be available for use by other not-for-profit and youth organizations. The bus is anticipated to be received and go into service in February 2023.
