A day after entering hospice care in his home, well-known Pastor and author Timothy Keller has died.

On Thursday, Timothy's son, Michael Keller, announced his father was entering hospice at home.

Keller, the pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, was initially diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer in May 2020. Since then, he has received two years of chemotherapy and participated in an immunotherapy drug trial for National Institute for Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

"He expressed many times through prayer his desire to go home to be with Jesus," said Michael in a social media post on Thursday.

Timothy took his last breath Friday morning at home.

"Dad waited until he was alone with Mom. She kissed him on the forehead, and he breathed his last breath," said Michael. "We take comfort in some of his last words, “There is no downside for me leaving, not in the slightest.” See you soon Dad."

Timothy was 72 years old.
