On Apr.27 around 5:45 p.m., Peace Regional RCMP encountered several individuals at the Grimshaw transfer station, with a pick-up truck that had previously been reported stolen from the Fairview area.  

An investigation ensued, resulting in the recovery of additional stolen property from within the vehicle.  

As a result of the investigation, Draper Nelson Laboucan, a 40 year old resident of the Cadotte Lake area has been charged with possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000, possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000, identity theft, and 6 counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order.

Charges are also pending against a Grimshaw area resident in connection with this investigation.  

Laboucan has been remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and is next scheduled to appear in Peace River Provincial court on July 6 in relation to these matters.
