The MD of Greenview responded to a request from the County regarding a potential partnership to establish a new cellular tower in the area of Bezanson and Smoky River Valley. The MD of Greenview declined the proposal due to the quoted cost of installation of $2,000,000; they advised the County that they are researching installing cellular boosters in their emergency vehicles as a more cost-effective means of improving emergency communication in the area.

Administration advised that since joining the Alberta First Responder Radio Communications System (AFRRCS), the County’s emergency communications in the area have improved. Council directed Administration to reach out the MD of Greenview to research the cost of installing a landline in the area that motorists could use in case of emergency.
