There's a new officer in charge for Grande Prairie’s RCMP detachment.

Superintendent Sean Curry has recently joined the team and is settling into the Peace Region quite well. His arrival comes following the retirement of former Superintendent Don McKenna earlier this year.

Curry is excited to be a part of a team that’s so open to implementing new ideas, and he plans to continue expanding on the Intelligence led policing in our region.

Curry says, "I like the idea of harm reduction, to use the resources that we have to look at those individuals who are causing harm in the community, and try to reduce that harm".

Superintendent Curry will continue to support operations that are already underway. He feels that Grande Prairie has it's own unique set of challenges, but nothing too different than other detachments he's worked at in the past.

He looks forward to working with residents, officers, and support services in Grande Prairie to best serve the needs of the community.
