Today, Aug. 19, three new cases of COVID-19 are being reported in the County of Grande Prairie and one new in the City. 

The City has 16 active and 39 recoveries, while the County has 12 active and 23 recoveries. 

Mackenzie County is reporting another death for a total of seven now. They have just one new case and four people have recovered for 46 active and 175 recoveries. There are still two active outbreaks in the region: family gatherings and Heimstaed Seniors Lodge in La Crete. The County remains on the province’s watch list. 

In the Grande Prairie surrounding area, there was little change since yesterday. The MD of Peace has one new case for six active and seven recoveries.  

Current totals: 

Provincially, 82 new cases were reported from 9,029 tests in the last 24 hours. There are 1,107 active cases and 11,167 recoveries, 142 of which are new. Two more Albertans have died for a total of 227. 

Currently, 48 people are hospitalized with 12 of these in intensive care. This is the same number of hospitalizations as yesterday but with one more person in the ICU.
