MUSKOSEEPI PARK SENIOR CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION

From July 3 to September 30, the Muskoseepi Park Senior Children’s Playground is closing to allow for installation of the new playground structure and rubber fall tile surfacing.

The scope of work is as follows:

  • · July 3 to July 9: Removals of old playground equipment, playground sand and concrete curbing
    · July 16 to August 17: Excavation of base and subgrade preparations and construction of new concrete retaining wall and concrete playground border
    · August 20 to August 31: Installation of new playground structure
    · September 1 to September 21: Installation of rubber surfacing

Construction fencing will be installed for the duration of the project. Contractors will be accessing the site with vehicles and equipment during the construction process. Park users are encouraged to be mindful of the construction activity within the playground area while visiting the park over the summer months.
The Junior Playground and spray pad will remain open during the construction process.

Upon completion, the new Muskoseepi Park Senior Children’s Playground for children ages 5-12 will be a fully accessible and inclusive 620 square meter playground structure. It will feature a rubber tile protective fall surface and accessible features within the playground. A separate area with a 3-bay swing set containing 6 swings is also being constructed. The existing climbing wall will remain and is incorporated in the new design.

A 3D rendering will be on display within the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion or can be downloaded online.
A grand re-opening is tentatively scheduled for October 2018.
