Jimmy Lefebvre arrived in North Bay Tuesday evening (July 17th) and is continuing his journey through North Bay.

Jimmy Lefebvre, and his family, have embarked on a 5,716km walk across Canada to raise money and cancer awareness, education and mental health supports for cancer patients and their families. He started his journey on May 1st in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and is due to arrive in Prince Edward Island on August 31st, arriving at his father's gravesite on what would have been his 72nd birthday.

BACKGROUND - CAN SURVIVE WALK 2018 W/JERRY LAFEBVRE
Starting May 1st, Jimmy Lefebvre began walking from Grande Prairie to Tignish, PEI where his dad was laid to rest beside of his grandparents. The goal is to arrive at the grave site by August 31, 2018 which would have been his dad’s 72nd birthday.
Jimmy’s walk was inspired by his father’s battle with Stage 3 lunch cancer which is inoperable.
The purpose of this walk is to 1) help bring awareness, education, support and treatment for mental health and wall being of those affected by cancer. 2)To build an endowment fund that will continue contributing funds for years into the future.
On Friday, June 22nd, Jimmy’s current location is Thunder Bay just outside of Kakapeka Falls.
On Saturday, June 23rd, Jimmy will be visiting The Terry Fox Monument and will be meeting with media to answer questions. His purpose is to draw a crowd and bring awareness to his cause.
