Alberta Health Service’s (AHS) mobile Screen Test program will be coming to Hythe Oct. 19-21.

Women ages 50-74 — the group most at risk of developing breast cancer — will have local access to mammography services.

According to AHS, Screen Test is improving access to cancer screening for hundreds of women in northern Alberta communities where mammography is not readily available.

AHS says that a mammogram is an X-ray of the breast and has proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer. Early detection allows for a greater number of options for treatment and a better chance of survival.

The trailer will be at the Hythe Legion (9818 100 Ave).

Call Screen Test to book or change your appointment (toll-free) 1-800-667-0604.

The Screen Test trailer will be in Manning Oct. 13-15, McLennan Oct. 22-24, and High Prairie Oct. 31-Nov 7.
