Joni Eareckson Tada announced an incredible healing update on her cancer prognosis.

The Christian author and speaker recently posted online that she has been declared cancer-free. A photo of herself holding an "All Clear" sign was shared to her website and Facebook page Tuesday.

In her post, Tada quotes Proverbs 25:25, which reads: "Good news from far away is like cold water to a thirsty soul.

"That perfectly describes Ken and me today," Tada shared.

"We were prepared to gladly take whatever from the hand of God, even if it were from his left hand. But the Lord was gracious and heard the desire of our hearts – last Friday's PET scan shows that my second tumor that was removed last November… did not metastasize! Given the aggressive nature of that reoccurring cancer, this news is quite miraculous."

Joni and Friends, Tada's international organization assisting those with disabilities, first released news of Tada's most recent cancer diagnosis in November of 2018. She had previously battled a diagnosis of stage-three breast cancer eight years ago, and underwent a mastectomy in 2010 and chemotherapy treatment before being declared cancer-free.

Tada underwent surgery in late November after a small nodule was discovered on the site of her mastectomy surgery. She was admitted to hospital following surgery after experiencing significant pain as a result of radiation treatments. She was released from the hospital on April 9, 2019.

While unexpected, Tada is certainly rejoicing in the good news. In her post, she offered sincere thanks to all those who have been praying for her since her diagnosis in November.

“So, THANK you for lifting us up before the Lord Jesus,” she wrote. “For now, we have been spared of more cancer battles."

The activist continued, "We humbly realize that may well change in the future; but for today, for now, we are rejoicing in those wonderful words from my medical oncologist: ‘all clear!’ Onward and upward…”
