It was announced today that Johnathan Clarkson has been promoted to General Manager of the Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park.

Clarkson says he is honoured the Board of Directors chose him to be the new general manager.

“I’m excited to take on this leadership role,” says Clarkson. “I’ve enjoyed being part of Nitehawk’s success and look forward to working with the Board, staff and community to help build an even stronger operation with new growth opportunities.”

Clarkson has been involved at Nitehawk for many years, first as a volunteer and then as staff 13 years ago. For the last eight years, he’s served as Assistant General Manager and most recently held the position of Acting General Manager.

“This organization has been growth focused and I want to continue that along with our board of directors. Really excited for all the challenges and opportunities that we’ll have in the future.”

One of the challenges this year is of course COVID-19.

“Certainly a lot of things coming that will be changes in that sense just in terms of our operations as we move forward into the winter season, but always, the focus once we get past COVID will be to focus on more growth and working on the things we’ve been working on the last 13 years I’ve been involved in the organization, but also right from day one when I started volunteering out there when I was 21, 19 years ago.”

Clarkson is also Board Chair of the Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association.

“Johnathan brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the General Manager position and we’re excited about his new role within the organization,” says Board President Whitney Wild. “We’re confident Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park will continue to meet challenges and realize new levels of excellence under his direction.”
