The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre are looking for volunteers and donations of hygiene items and clothing for the NWT evacuees.

On the growing list of evacuations, residents of Yellowknife are now being ordered to leave by Friday.

Donate Hygiene Items:

Please consider donating new and unused items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, tampons, pads, sanitizers, nail clippers, hairbrushes, razors, etc. If you need it in your home, evacuees need it in their accommodations as well. We also need new and unused underwear and socks, in all sizes, and new or lightly used clothing, all sizes.

They have a great need for supplies for children and enfants, such as diapers, formula/milk, new or lightly used playpens/toys- everything a child could need and would bring a mother relief to know their child won't go without during such a difficult time.

The also need shower chairs for evacuees with low mobility.

Items added to list: combs, brushes, depends, back packs/ duffel bags.  Diapers sized sizes 4, 5, and 6.

Please bring all donations to 10513 98th Ave, and ask for a One Window Resource staff member.

For volunteer and donation inquiries, please contact Orren Anderson at GP Friendship Centre by emailing orrenanderson@gpfriendship.com
