Harry Balfour School is getting closer to its new playground thanks to a recent $30,000 donation from the Five Mile Community Agricultural Society.

Phase 2 of the playground, which will be installed at the Harry Balfour Replacement School, will cost approximately $175,000, and with the Ag Society’s donation, the school now has $130,000. Harry Balfour School Principal Jen Clevette says she is grateful for the support, “The amount of support we’ve received from the community and our families has been amazing. The students and staff are all very excited for our new school and this playground will only add to the excitement.” Mrs. Clevette says the school community is looking forward to continuing this partnership with its new neighbour. “The Five Mile Community Agricultural Society is also donating time and machinery during the landscaping and playground construction process this spring and will be hosting a parent fundraising event in May.” There have also been discussions about an outdoor arena and different field uses.

The Harry Balfour Replacement School will open for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. For school updates and upcoming events, follow Harry Balfour School on Facebook.
