The wildfire danger for the Grande Prairie Forest Area has risen from low to moderate.

While there is still no fire advisory in place, Alberta Wildfire continues to remind everyone to be diligent. This means when operating an off-highway vehicle to use caution, clear your hot spots, and carry a collapsible bucket and shovel. It also means ensuring campfires are out: soak it, stir it, and soak it again.

Since March 1, there have been 29 wildfires in the Grande Prairie Forest Area, burning more than 19 hectares.
