Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant on a residence resulting in seizure of drugs, weapons and currency.

On July 6, 2021 with the assistance from Grande Prairie municipal officers, a search warrant was conducted on a residence in the area of 94 Street and 121 Avenue.

The search resulted in the seizure of the following:

·80 grams of suspected Fentanyl

·75 grams of suspected Methamphetamine

·5 grams of suspected Cocaine

·100 Prescription pills

·A loaded .32 calibre revolver

·88 rounds of .32 calibre ammunition

·A crossbow

·An imitation firearm

·Bear Spray

·$2, 900 in Canadian Currency

·Drug paraphernalia

 

Two individuals were arrested during the search. One of them was wanted on several outstanding warrants on unrelated matters. As a result of this investigation, both individuals are facing new charges.

 

Stacey Trotter (35) of Grande Prairie, has been charged with:

·Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2

·Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order x2

·Unsafe Storage of a Firearm

·Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

·Possession of Ammunition at an Unauthorized Place

·Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

·Possession of Break-in Instruments

 

Danica Nystrom, a 25-year-old female from Ponoka, has been charged with:

·Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2

·Failing to Comply with an Undertaking x2

·Unsafe Storage of a Firearm

·Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

·Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

·Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·Possession of Break-in Instruments

 

Following a judicial hearing, Trotter and Nystrom have been remanded in custody to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on July 14, 2021.
