On January 21, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit were conducting patrols near an industrial area located in Clairmont, Alta., when a suspicious vehicle with two occupants was observed driving in the area. A traffic stop was conducted near 72 Avenue and 99 Street.

During the investigation, while the officer was speaking to the female driver, the officer recognized the male passenger who was breaching conditions of a release order. The male passenger was subsequently arrested. 

A search of the passenger and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of several items including what is believed to be:

·Approximately 15.6 grams of cocaine

·Approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine

·Approximately 2.4 grams of fentanyl

Police also seized $220 in Canadian Currency and multiple items related to drug trafficking.

Floyd Bradley Dick (44) of Clairmont and Brandi Lyn Steidel (27), of Grande Prairie have been charged with:

·Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl

·Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

·Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine

Floyd Dick faces an additional charge of:

·Failing to comply with release order x 3

Following a judicial hearing, Floyd Dick was remanded into custody and Brandi Steidel was released from custody on a release order. Both are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Feb. 23, 2022.
