On Wednesday, January 25th, 2023, the Grande Prairie Public Library was recognized for its commitment to promoting the enhancement and furtherance of early childhood development and outcomes for children in our community. The Children’s Department and Children’s Program Coordinator, Erika Stamp, received a certificate of recognition for their work supporting children ages 0 through 6 by the Grande Prairie Family Centered Coalition, which is managed by The Family Education Society.

The Grande Prairie Public Library would like to thank the coalition for the privilege of being recognized for its efforts in early childhood work and programming. The Grande Prairie Public Library’s children’s programming for the month of February will be spotlighted by the GP family Centered Coalition.

“I am so proud of our Children’s Department staff. Changes have been made to our physical space over the last few months improving the Department’s abilities to facilitate more inclusive programming, such as using our Play Zone space for larger baby and toddler programs. These spaces also promote a more communal and social atmosphere in the Library. We are working hard to provide a vast array of programming for our growing community.” says Erika Stamp.
