This week, the Grande Prairie Public School District (GPPSD) was proud to announce that one of their students, Shubh Patel, won the Schulich Leader Scholarship, Canada’s most coveted undergraduate STEM scholarship.
Shubh Patel is a student at Grande Prairie Composite High.
Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship.
One hundred are awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at 20 partner universities across Canada. Fifty are valued at $100,000 for engineering scholarships and fifty are valued at $80,000 for science and math scholarships.
The number of scholarships awarded this year is double the usual amount.
