Today, Aug. 25, the City of Grande Prairie is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 and three recoveries.  

Two outbreaks have been declared in the City, at Signature Support Services House 103B and Heritage Lodge, run by the Grande Spirit Foundation. We don’t yet have details on these outbreaks, but they have been confirmed by Alberta Health. 

Locations of outbreaks in acute care and continuing care facilities are reported publicly when there are 2 or more cases, indicating that a transmission within the facility has occurred.

In the County, there were no new cases found and one person recovered. Clear Hills County saw six new cases and had one recovery. County of Northern Lights has one new case. Mackenzie County shows three new cases today and six recoveries. In the MD of Greenview, one new case was found. 

Clear Hills County and the County of Northern Lights have been added to the province's relaunch watch list. This is the second time Clear Hills County has been on the list.

Region totals: 

Provincially, there were 8,440 tests over the last 24 hours completed which resulted in 77 new cases. The active total is 1,134. Alberta had 114 new recoveries for a total of 11,714. 

Hospitalizations went up by one to 46, with seven of these in intensive care. One more Albertan has died for a total of 235.
