In the City of Grande Prairie, 29 new COVID-19 cases were reported, and 28 people recovered. The active total is 481 with 2138 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, five new cases were added, and 17 people recovered. There’s now 192 active cases and 667 recoveries.

Peace Region totals:

Provincially, Alberta reported 1,412 new cases today (April 14) from 15,738 tests completed and our positivity rate is about 9 per cent. Right now, 15,569 cases are active in the province. With 922 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 146,933.

There’s 420 people in the hospital with the virus, with 92 of these in intensive care. This is 18 more hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and four more ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 33 people in the hospital with seven of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported eight more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 2,029 since the start of the pandemic.

There’s been 778 more cases of variants of concern found. Of the active cases, 8,197, or 52.6 per cent, are variants. In the North Zone, 894 variant cases are active, one person has died and 351 have recovered.

There have now been 994,605 vaccine doses administered, with 191,057 Albertans fully immunized with two doses.
