In the City of Grande Prairie, 25 new COVID-19 cases were reported March 24, and 10 people recovered. The active total is 169 with 1751 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, 13 new cases were added, and two people recovered. There’s now 60 active cases and 514 recoveries.

Peace Region totals:

Provincially, Alberta has reported 692 new cases from 12,835 tests completed and our positivity rate sits at 5.3 per cent. Right now, 6,534 cases are active in the province. With 387 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 135,040.

There’s 285 people in the hospital with the virus, with 53 of these in intensive care. This is five fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and the same number of ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 25 people in the hospital with five of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported two more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,973 since the start of the pandemic.

Two-hundred-two more cases of variants of concern have been found for a total of 850. There have been 51 total found in the North Zone since testing for the variants began, seven of which are new. Of the active cases provincially, 19.4 per cent are variant cases.

There have now been 512,248 vaccine doses administered, with 93,910 people fully immunized with two doses.
