The Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection announced today, Sept. 10, that they are one of 7 recipients for the Makadiff Grassroots Community Sport Innovation Challenge Grant, receiving $35,000. 

GP Sport Connection is planning to use the money to help launch the YQU 4 All Sport Initiative bringing free after school multisport programming to youth in Swanavon School, Hillside Community School, Avondale School and Maude Clifford Public School. 

It will also be used to provide free training and development for sport leaders and coaches to lead the programming. The training will include these programs: High Five, First-Aid and National Coaching Certification Program.

The Village of Hythe was also a recipient of a grant, for $10,000, which will go to Hythe Plays Crokicurl.
