On Oct. 29, Beaverlodge RCMP received information from the United States’ Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives regarding concerning online content of a criminal nature that was believed to have been posted by a resident of the Beaverlodge area. 

Beaverlodge RCMP completed an investigation that resulted in obtaining a search warrant for a residence in town. On Nov. 7, RCMP completed a search of the residence and seized three firearms. 

Joseph Paul Campbell, 38, of Beaverlodge, is charged with three counts of possession of a firearm without a license and three counts of storage of a firearm in a careless manner. 

Following a judicial hearing, Campbell was released on cash bail with conditions to attend Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Nov. 30.

Ash Browne, Detachment Commander of Beaverlodge RCMP. “Beaverlodge RCMP would like to remind residents that it’s important to inform us of any social media posts you feel could endanger the lives of their fellow citizens.”
