The Peace Regional RCMP are seeking public assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle that fled from police and made several attempts to collide with a police vehicle.   

On Jan. 29, at approximately 3:40 a.m, Peace Regional RCMP attempted a traffic stop with a pick-up truck in the area of Highway 743 (Webberville Road) and Township Road 844; however, the pick-up truck failed to stop and was last observed traveling westbound on Township Road 850.   

A short while later, the suspect vehicle that failed to stop doubled-back on Township Road 850 and entered the opposite lane of travel, nearly colliding with the police vehicle that was in the area.  Peace Regional RCMP followed the vehicle and the suspect vehicle made several attempts to collide with the police vehicle.  RCMP ended their attempts to locate the vehicle out of consideration for public safety.  

Peace Regional RCMP are now engaged in an investigation to locate and identify the occupant(s) of the suspect vehicle at the time of the incident. 

The suspect vehicle is described as: 

  • late 1980's model  
  • Ford pick-up truck 
  • single cab 
  • two-tone brown color 
  • rust around the wheel wells 
  • metal rack was observed in the bed of the truck and multiple tires 

Peace Regional RCMP located the suspect vehicle abandoned in the afternoon of Jan. 29, 2021. 

The suspect driver is described as possibly a caucasian male in his 40's with sandy brown hair and a husky build.
