It's do or die for the Calgary Flames Thursday, August 20, as they face elimination at the hands of the Dallas Stars in their first round NHL playoff series.

The Flames are down three games to two, following their 2-1 loss Tuesday, August 18.

They need to get some production from their top line of Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan and Elias Lindholm if they hope to win the next two games.

Gaudreau has one goal in this series, while Monahan and Lindholm haven't scored since the play-in round against Winnipeg.

The puck drops at 8:30 p.m. (MDT) at Rogers Place.

The Vancouver Canucks took a 3-2 lead in their series with the St. Louis Blues thanks to a 4-3 win Wednesday, August 19, in Edmonton.

The Montreal Canadiens stayed alive with a 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers who still hold a 3-2 series lead in that one.

The Tampa Bay Lightning eliminated the Columbus Blue Jackets with a 5-4 win in overtime.

The Boston Bruins sent the Carolina Hurricanes packing in five games with a 2-1 win.

And the Colorado Avalanche buried the Arizona Coyotes 7-1 to win that series in five.

Just one other game on tap Thursday as the New York Islanders get another crack at eliminating the Washington Capitals, leading that series 3-1.

The puck drops at 6 p.m. (MDT) from Toronto.
