Over the last year, Mayor Darcy Dober has been busy building up relationships hosting round tables with specific groups within the community. One of those round tables is a group of individuals and organizations that provide services to youth in Dawson Creek. The group meets every few months to discuss the needs of youth, upcoming events or services being offered to them, and more recently, some ideas for engaging youth in new ways.

Survey information

In order to understand the needs of youth in the community, a simple survey has been developed to collect feedback from youth themselves. Youth ranging from 6-19 years of age are encouraged to complete the survey, whether by themselves or with the aid of an adult.

“Youth are extremely important to me. They are the future of our city, and it’s important to hear from the youth themselves what they are needing before we just assume. We’re looking forward to seeing what type of answers we get, and brainstorming how we can reach more youth in different ways in our community,” says Mayor Darcy Dober.

The survey will remain open until April 23, 2024 and can be found at bit.ly/inspiringyouthsurvey.
