Dr. Hinshaw, Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health, reported today 187 new cases in the province for a total of 3095. 1273 of these have recovered.

There have been two new deaths. One of these was at High Prairie's JB Continuing Care Centre.

There are 367 active COVID-19 cases at 29 continuing care centres considered outbreak sites.

There have been no new cases identified in the City or County of Grande Prairie.

There are now 401 cases in workers at the Cargil plant and 77 at the JBS beef plant in Brooks.

There are 20 confirmed cases at the Kearl work camp north of Fort McMurray. All workers who were at the camp prior to April 16 when the outbreak was identified must self-isolate for 14 days after they left the camp. They may have been exposed without being aware and could be incubating the virus. This week there are conducting swabbing as an added measure to identify cases

Starting today, Alberta Health is posting a list of active outbreak sites. This will be updated on Tuesdays and Fridays each week.
