The Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) announced today (March 23) that there has been a positive COVID-19 case found at Hythe Regional School.

The person was last at school on Thursday, March 18. All Hythe Regional School families and staff received the information today after school administration was notified.

The identified close contacts must isolate at home until Friday, April 2. Since this date falls on the Good Friday holiday, followed by the Easter break week, the return-to-school date for close contacts will be Monday, April 12.

At home learning is available to isolating students.

The school is still open for in-person learning, and necessary measures are being taken to prevent spread to staff and students. Disinfection of the school has taken place.

To respect their privacy, the person’s name won’t be released.
