Division 3 Councillor Leanne Beaupre has been acclaimed as Reeve and Division 4 Councillor Ross Sutherland as Deputy Reeve for the seventh consecutive year at today’s annual organizational meeting.
“Being supported by my fellow Councillors to serve another term as the Reeve for the County of Grande Prairie is an honour,” said Reeve Leanne Beaupre. “As a Council, we will continue to put the needs of our residents first by investing in the programs, services and facilities that improve quality of life throughout our community.”
Deputy Reeve Ross Sutherland said, “I look forward to working with my fellow Councillors and administration to ensure that the County remains a great place for residents to live, raise a family while maintaining an excellent climate for economic development. Thank you to Council for your vote of confidence for another year.”
Leanne Beaupre was first elected as the County of Grande Prairie’s Reeve and Ross Sutherland as Deputy Reeve on April 30, 2012. Beaupre has been on County Council since 2004 as Councillor for Division 3. Sutherland has served on Council since October of 2010 and represents Division 4.
County Council holds an organizational meeting each year in order to choose a Reeve, Deputy Reeve and make various committee appointments.
