The City is excited to host 2400 athletes, coaches and officials for the upcoming Alberta Winter Games! City recreational facilities are adjusting their schedules to accommodate the Games, see full details below.

Eastlink Centre – full facility

  • The Eastlink Centre closes to the public at 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 18.
  • Statutory holiday hours of 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, February 19.

Residents are reminded that the traditional Family Day event is not taking place this year. Everyone is instead encouraged to come out and support the amazing young athletes taking part in the 2024 Alberta Winter Games.

Eastlink Centre – aquatics & fieldhouse

The Eastlink Centre is excited to host artistic swimming in the aquatics area and judo in the fieldhouse! Both the aquatics area and the fieldhouse have the following schedule changes:

  • Fieldhouse unavailable for public drop-in Friday, February 16 starting at 3 p.m.
  • Both areas unavailable for public drop-in use all day February 17 and 18. Available for Alberta Winter Games ticketed spectators.
  • Statutory holiday hours of 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, February 19.

Design Works Centre

Ringette and speed skating are being hosted at the Twin Ice Arenas. Design Works Centre has made the following schedule changes:

  • Unavailable for public drop-in Friday, February 16 starting at 3 p.m.
  • Unavailable for public drop-in use all day February 17 and 18. Available for Alberta Winter Games ticketed spectators.
  • Statutory holiday hours of 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, February 19.

Activity & Reception Centre

The Activity & Reception Centre is hosting archery for the Alberta Winter Games. The facility has the following schedule changes:

  • Unavailable for public drop-in use all day February 14 to 18. Available for Alberta Winter Games ticketed spectators.
  • Toddler drop-in and Homeschool PE will continue to run at Maude Clifford Community Gym (9602 Lakeland Drive) on February 14.

Dave Barr Community Centre

The Dave Barr Community Centre is thrilled to be the venue for female hockey. The schedule for Dave Barr has adjusted as follows:

  • Unavailable for public drop-in use all day February 17 to 19. Available for Alberta Winter Games ticketed spectators.

Bonnetts Energy Centre & The Bowes

Bonnetts Energy Centre is the host facility for the opening ceremonies and figure skating for Alberta Winter Games while the Bowes features wrestling. Both facilities have the following schedule changes:

  • Available for Alberta Winter Games ticketed spectators February 17 and 18.
  • Unavailable February 19.
