In today’s COVID-19 update, Dr. Hinshaw reported 8,363 recoveries in the province. Out of more than 1813 tests, 141 new cases were identified, for an active total of 1,193.

There are 93 in people in the hospital with 16 of these in intensive care. Two more Albertans have died, for a total of 172.

The County of Grande Prairie has three more active cases than yesterday, for a total of 12. One recovery has been removed for a total of eight. The City has more case for nine active and still 17 recoveries.

MD of Greenview has a new case; they have two active and one recovered. Clear Hills County has a new case for 12 active and 10 recoveries. County of Northern Lights has one new case for three active and one recovered.

Mackenzie County cases continue to grow. They now have 36 cases, eight of which are new. They’ve seen one more person recover, for a total of 50.

Dr. Hinshaw says that she is concerned by the continued rise in active cases. Alberta Health is watching the situation, but she says we all need to be working to lower the numbers. Especially as we start the school year, it will be best if we have low provincial numbers.
