The Bezanson Agricultural Society has received a $9,937 grant from the provincial government for improvements to the Bezanson Memorial Hall.

Audrey Hewings, Executive Director for the Bezanson Agricultural Society, says, “The Bezanson Ag Society is thrilled to receive this funding which will complete an electrical upgrade and installation of an alarm system in the Bezanson Memorial Hall. This community facility was originally built in 1949 and it needed this upgrade to tie into the alarm system with the recent addition of the Community Centre. This alarm will allow for increased capacity for funerals, weddings, family reunions, fundraisers and community activities. Bezanson Ag Society wishes to thank the Government of Alberta for this opportunity and funding.”

The grant was provided through the Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP). CFEP funding provides financial assistance to acquire, build, purchase, repair, renovate, upgrade or expand sports, recreational, cultural or other related public-use community facilities.

Travis Toews, MLA for Grande Prairie-Wapiti, says, “I’m glad to see the Bezanson Agricultural Society receive this grant. The Memorial Hall is a hub for the community and a space for everyone to enjoy. Alberta’s government is proud to support local communities and the organizations providing great services in them.”

The CFEP grant aims to foster healthy, and vibrant communities across Alberta.
