Town of Beaverlodge public works will be doing some more work on the water system next week.

Starting Monday June 22 at 12:00 p.m., workers will be replacing two old and faulty water valves on the northeast corner of 6th Ave and 11th St, followed by high pressure chlorination, flushing and testing.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Replace Valve 1, Water Loss of 2-3 Hours and then Boil Water Advisory Starts
  • Tuesday – Replace Valve 2, Water Loss of 2-3 Hours - Boil Water Advisory Continues
  • Wednesday – Flush lines with highly concentrated chlorine agent and then flush the agent from the lines with potable water. Water availability will be very limited during this stage and is Not Safe for Use.
  • Thursday – Start sending daily sample for testing to AHS Labs – Boil Water Advisory Resumes
  • Friday – Send 2nd daily sample for testing to AHS Labs – Boil Water Advisory Continues
  • Saturday – Boil Water Advisory Continues as AHS Labs are closed
  • Sunday – Boil Water Advisory Continues as AHS Labs are closed Monday - Boil Water Advisory Continues

Two consecutive samples with positive results are required before AHS will direct the Boil Water Advisory to be lifted.

The Town strongly recommends that residents in the area plan to have enough drinking water for at least 48- 72 hours as this is the minimum amount of time before water could be safe for consumption after boiling.

The affected residents will be notified by hand delivered notifications if there are any significant changes to the schedule and when the Boil Water Advisory is lifted.
