A young Christian singer who used the stage of America's Got Talent (AGT) to share her story and inspire millions has lost her battle with cancer.

Jane Marczewski, who performs under the stage name Nightbirde died over the weekend.

On June 8, 2021, she took the stage on the popular network show.

"I'm 30 and tonight I'll be singing an original song called 'It's Okay,'" says the singer before her performance.

One of the judges, Howie Mandel, asks what the song is all about.

"It's about the last year of my life. Last time I checked I had some cancer in my lungs, my spine, and my liver," she says.

Marczewski was given just a two percent chance of survival, but that didn't stop her from pushing forward.

"I have a two percent chance of survival, but two percent is not zero percent. Two percent is something, and I wish people knew how amazing it is."

After performing her song, the singer received a standing ovation, and Simon Cowell pressed the golden buzzer, moving her on to the next round, regardless of what the other judges said.

A couple of months after making her debut on the show, she announced her health had declined and that she would be unable to continue with the competition.

"I am so sad to announce that I won’t be able to continue forward on this season of AGT. Life doesn’t always give breaks to those that deserve it—but we knew that already."

Howie Mandel, one of the judges from America's Got Talent, took to social media on Monday to remember Jane tweeting, "@_nightbirde was such a bright inspirational light in all our lives. We must continue to live and learn from her words and lyrics. As much as I feel horribly about her passing I feel lucky to have met, heard and known her."
