Alberta RCMP Major Crimes are currently investigating a shooting which resulted in the death of 59-year-old Patricia Campiou, a resident of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation. As a result of the investigation, RCMP have charged Vincent Nathan Campiou (37), of no fixed address, with Second-Degree-Murder. 

The incident took place on March 12, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Although early in the investigation, RCMP believe that this was an isolated incident.
