The 50th annual Wanham Plowing Match, scheduled to take place June 18-20, has been postponed.

The unanimous decision by the board of directors was announced this week the current uncertainty due to COVID-19 in mind.

“Current economic ramifications as well as personal challenges within our communities has significantly affected the viability for our event. It is prudent we continue to do our part in flattening the curve that is impacting the health system.”

The board says will be reaching out to their supporters in the coming weeks and thanks people for understanding their difficult decision.

They are looking forward to when they are able to host the 50th annual Wanham Plowing Match.

According to their Facebook page, the Wanham Plowing Match is intended to “preserve the art and skill of competitive plowing/pulling and to pay tribute to the way things were done in the past.”
