The RCMP have arrested two men following an incident that occurred on December 27 within the community of Little Buffalo.

At 11:40 p.m., the Peace Regional RCMP responded to a complaint that several individuals were fighting on the road. One male is alleged to have bear sprayed another male and then left on an ATV.  He later returned on the ATV with a long barrelled firearm.  He is alleged to have fired a single shot towards the male he earlier bear sprayed, before the firearm was taken away from him.

The suspect male fled on his ATV.

When the RCMP arrived, the suspect male surrendered at a nearby residence, with no further incident.  He was taken into custody.  The firearm was recovered by the RCMP.  No one sustained injuries during this altercation. The individuals involved in this were all known to each other.

18-year-old Jayden Lance Laboucan of Peace River is charged with attempted murder, 2 counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, 2 counts of assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and uttering threats.

Laboucan remains in custody and is remanded to appear in court on January 2, 2020 at the Provincial Court in Falher.

A 22-year-old male from Little Buffalo is also facing a charge of uttering threats in relation to this incident.  His charges have not yet been sworn.
