The City of Grande Prairie’s 2021 Intersection Improvements Program will make its way to the 108 Avenue and 96 Street intersection on Tuesday, June 8.

Wapiti Gravel Suppliers will be working in the intersection to replace a manhole and install two new catch basins. Crews will be working to ensure the intersection is closed for as short of a duration as possible. The closure is scheduled from June 8 to June 20 with overall construction anticipated to be complete by the end of June.

Concrete and asphalt work, pavement markings and a traffic signal rehabilitation are also scheduled as part of the intersection improvements.

Drivers are reminded to watch for workers in all construction areas and to pay attention to all posted signage. All detours will be clearly marked.

The City's Intersection Improvements Program is an overarching annual City program that includes the traffic signal repair and replacement, durable pavement marking, and geometric upgrades programs. These programs include everything from new and rehabilitated traffic signals and crosswalks to geometric upgrades to roadways to enhance the flow of traffic through intersections.
