The Peace Wapiti Public School District (PWPSD) is working on their specific re-entry plan for schools for the fall.  

On June 10, Education Minister Adriana LaGrange announced Alberta’s re-entry plan, which included preparing for three possible scenarios. The province is aiming for scenario one, a return to near-normal operations with some health restrictions in place. In scenario one, physical distancing will be maintained when possible, with extra emphasis on hygiene practices when it is not.

Government will announce their final decision on Aug. 1.  

All school boards will need to be ready to switch from one situation to another on short notice, as the COVID-19 situation can change quickly. The decision will vary regionally based on how many cases that area has. Local authorities have been given autonomy in how they implement public health orders and develop their academic calendar.
