A 90-year-old great-great-grandfather has lived a good life and is a decent man by all accounts. But recently he realized that there was one important thing missing from his life.

'Pawpaw Lindy,' as the man is affectionately known to his family, is a "good man," according to his great-grandaughter, Lyndsey Robinson, in a recent social media post.

"He is honest and has always tried to do right by everyone. He has always worked. He has farmed. He has gone to Sardis and been a member for a LONG time. He has been married to Mawmaw Margie for over 70 years. He has raised a large and decent family: 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild."

The 'Sardis' mentioned in the post is Sardis Baptist Church in Bowdon, Georgia.

Despite having attended the church for decades, Lindy had never submitted his life to Christ. The other week something changed.

"The glory is His."

Robinson tells Faithwire, “He had my great-grandmother (Mawmaw Margie) call our preacher to come to their home. My Pawpaw’s exact words were, ‘If I die, I know I’m going to hell.’ Our preacher came to my great-grandparents’ house, and he talked with him and prayed with him. He accepted Christ. Then, the 22nd, he was baptized at our evening service at church."

Robinson says the preacher and one of Lindy's nephews helped the man into the baptismal tank and both men baptized him.

"He had children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his one great-great-grandchild out in the pews looking on. The picture is just before our preacher took him under the water," Robinson says.

She shared the experience in a post the evening of September 22, and it quickly went viral, with over 10,000 interactions with it to date.

"God is good, y’all!" she writes in the original post. "You may think it’s too late— it’s not. You may think you’re too far gone— you’re not. BUT GOD."

Robinson says in another post that she did not intend or ever think the post would go viral. However, she says, she's glad it did, and not for the attention her family has received, but for the attention Jesus has received.

"I will tell you what I love about it... I love that that post is about Jesus. I love that every comment on that post is positive and singing praises to Him. I love that people are saying they now have hope for their lost loved ones. The glory is His.

"Social media doesn’t have to always be a bad thing. There is a lot of bad news shared daily. I’m glad some good news is flooding Facebook, and it’s not just any good news— it’s THE Good News."
