Quebec crew that is heading home after successfully fighting the Battle Complex - Alberta Wildfire

The Battle Complex fire is now under control at 55,179 hectares in size in the Manning/Notikewin area.

This lightning was caused by fire on May 11.

Thanks to the hard work of firefighters, aircraft and heavy equipment, 100% of the fire perimeter is now considered to be contained. A combination of crews, heavy equipment and aerial resources continue to target and action the hot spots.  There is limited fire behaviour potential for the next few days.

There have been 90 wildfires this fire season in the Peace River Forest Area, all but three of which have now been extinguished. The remaining two are much smaller and are also under control.
