On June 14, 2022, at approximately 8 a.m., Whitecourt RCMP responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in Woodlands County, Alta. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle had a Canada Wide Warrant.

The driver was arrested and a search of the vehicle incidental to arrest led officers to locate a loaded sawed off 12 gauge shotgun which was by the drivers seat. The vehicle was seized and a search warrant obtained. Further search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 5 grams of Fentanyl and 18 X 1 ounce bags of Methamphetamine.

Cody Chase Letendre (30) of Whitecourt, Alta., is now facing 16 new charges, some of which include:

·Flight from Peace Officer

·Possession of a restricted weapon

·Possession for the purpose of trafficking x 2 (Fentanyl and Methamphetamine)

He will be appearing in Whitecourt Provincial Court on June 22, 2022.
