Today, West Fraser announced a two-year, $100,000 commitment to STARS operations in Alberta and northeastern B.C. This gift builds on West Fraser’s nearly two decades of support for STARS and its life-saving missions.

West Fraser and STARS share a common heritage, having grown from humble beginnings into leaders in their respective industries. As one of Canada’s Top 100 employers and with 28 locations across Western Canada, West Fraser cares deeply about the health and safety of their employees and the communities they call home.

“The decision to support STARS is an easy one,” said Gord Weeber, General Manager, Alberta OSB, West Fraser. “As an organization committed to the safety of our people and our communities, we have supported STARS for nearly 20 years and are increasing that support to help meet the growing need in our region. Thank you to the team at STARS, your hard work saves lives and improves outcomes every day – you truly are heroes.”

STARS has carried out more than 50,000 missions across Western Canada since 1985, including 1,677 missions in Alberta and British Columbia in the past year alone. These missions would not be possible without organizations like West Fraser.

“West Fraser has been a STARS ally for almost 20 years, and we are very grateful for their support,” said STARS Chief Fundraising and Brand Officer Terri Strunk. “West Fraser’s generous commitment to STARS will play an important role in providing the equipment and training we need to ensure we can be there for critically ill and injured patients when and where they need us most.”
