For many Christians, a tour of famous Christian Holy sites can often be a lifelong dream. Unfortunately, travelling can be prohibitively expensive, even in the best of times. Fortunately, many places can be seen virtually through YouTube.

 1. The Holy Land of Israel

The Ancient land of Israel includes modern Israel, Palestine and parts of Syria. The Temple Mount, Holy Sepulchre, and Mount of Olives are only a few sites known to many people of faith.

2. St. Peter's Basilica

Located in Vatican City, this site is home to a unique collection of artistic and architectural masterpieces. It is built over the tomb where, according to tradition, lay the remains of St. Peter the apostle.

3. Hagia Sophia

The Hagia Sophia is an ancient former Greek Orthodox Cathedral that was converted into an Ottoman mosque. It was finally converted into a Turkish museum in 1935. Built between 532 and 537, this site, commissioned by the Byzantine emperor Justinian I, is most famous for its mosaics that decorate its interior walls.

 4. Westminster Abbey

This is one of England's most iconic Christian sites. It was originally a Benedictine monastery. Built 1,000 years ago, the abbey was dissolved in 1539 before being turned into a cathedral. Since 1560, the church has received the status of "Royal Peculiar", becoming directly responsible to the British monarchy. All coronations have occurred here since 1066 and it is the burial site of over 3,000 prominent British persons.
