Cece Winans, Maverick City Music, and Elevation Worship were the big winners at Sunday night's Grammy Awards.

It was a historic night at the Grammys last night as Maverick City Music was the first Christian artist's performance televised in 20 years. The worship collective would then go on to pick up their first-ever Grammy with Elevation Worship for their collaborative album Old Church Basement.

“This group was created for those who were marginalized, unheard, and rejected in this space, to be heard and have a space," Alton Eugene of Maverick City Music said in the acceptance speech. “All of us on this stage represent that.”

Chris Brown from Elevation Worship talked about how special it was for the two groups to come together to work on a project that worshipped Jesus. "I will never forget that little basement where this beautifully wild season between our two groups began. It’s been the most beautiful thing watching our two ministries create something together that we could have never created separately,” he said.

Legendary Gospel singer Cece Winans took home the most hardware with three awards.
