The Valleyview RCMP continue to investigate a hit and run that occurred on Oct. 9, 2021, on Highway 43, 2 kilometers west of Range Road 230.

The pedestrian was struck in the westbound lanes of Highway 43. The victim, a 20-year-old female, was discovered in the ditch by passersby. The collision occurred between the hours of 5:00 – 7:30 a.m. The 25-year-old female of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation who was injured as a result of this hit and run collision remains in hospital in critical condition.

RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating witnesses who may have seen the collision or a female walking on Highway 43 near Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation between the hours of 5 a.m., and 7:30 a.m., on Oct. 9, 2021.
